CKM Auto Service began in 1961 as Arnold Lee Service. Craig Chin purchased Arnold Lee Service from his uncle, Mr. Lee, in 1988. Shortly after Craig and Karla married in 2008 they incorporated and began operating as CKM Auto Service. ‘CKM’ is a nod to their newly formed family: Craig, Karla and their
They have worked diligently to expand their business to better serve their loyal customers. This is
evident in their June 2015 move into their new and larger facility in North Fresno and their utilization of
digital vehicle inspections performed on iPads by their technicians.
Craig has more than 45 years of experience in the automotive service industry. Craig started out in the auto shop at Fresno High School and tinkering at his Uncle Arnold’s shop. After graduation, he attended Fresno City College receiving his Certificate of Achievement in Automotive Sciences. From there he went to work for the local Pontiac dealerships. In 1984, he returned to Uncle Arnold’s shop and in 1988 bought the business.
Karla has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an option in Accountancy. While maintaining her Human Resource and Accounting responsibilities as Vice President at CKM, Karla works full time at ThomCo Insurance as their Agency Manager. Karla has been with ThomCo Insurance since 1998.
Craig and Karla strongly believe in continuing the education of their staff and themselves. The technicians have a required annual minimum number of education hours. Craig and Karla are alumni of the Automotive Training Institute. They continue to attend ownership classes about twice year in
Craig and Karla have been married for nine years, have one daughter (Marilyn), their dog (Bella) and a granddog (Bochy). Craig enjoys golfing, camping and cooking for his family. Karla enjoys reading,
camping and letting Craig cook.
Marilyn Chin graduated from Bullard High School and is currently attending Clovis Community College with plans to transfer to Fresno State with a major in Early Child Development. Marilyn began working at CKM Auto Service in June of 2015. Her responsibilities are many: answering phones, greeting customers, bookkeeping, filing, shuttle driver, parts pick-up, writing up basic estimates, in general our Utility Player.
Marilyn is single. Her dog, Bochy, is almost always by her side. Marilyn enjoys going to concerts, camping at Shaver Lake and driving her Chevy Truck (aka Big Red).
Nhia Vue graduated from Edison High School and Fresno City College. Nhia has always been interested in cars; an interest that was sparked by his Grandfather who owned an automotive repair shop. Nhia has worked in the automotive industry for ten years and joined CKM Auto Service in November of 2016. He started as a general service technician and quickly proved himself as an asset at the front counter helping Craig. Nhia is currently being trained by Craig to write service and is showing great promise.
Nhia is has been married for over six years to Pahua Xiong. They have two children: Theodore 1 ½ years old and Matilda 2 months old. The family also has three dogs: Salt, Pepper and Maxwill. Nhia likes spending time with his family and especially looks forward to dinners at Mom’s house.
Salvador Arambula Jr graduated from Sanger High School. He furthered his education earning an Associate Degree at Universal Technical Institute. Salvador has worked in the automotive industry for ten years. He started off by helping his Dad who is also a technician. Salvador has been with CKM Auto Service since January of 2014. Salvador is ASE Certified in Engine Repair, Automatic Transmissions, Manual Drive Train and Axles, and Steering and Suspension.
Salvador enjoys spending time with his girlfriend Liset, building motorized bicycles, fabricating riding horses, working out and volunteering at church. He has one dog, Wishbone, and two cats, Haru and Nuni.
Lee Her graduated from Merced High School and has eight years of experience in the automotive industry. Lee joined CKM Auto Service as a General Service Technician in February. He is currently working on earning his ASE Certification.
Lee is single, he likes music, playing the guitar, fishing and the outdoor life in general.
